Established in 1986, Childline KwaZulu-Natal was started by a group of dedicated volunteers in response to the growing number of child sexual abuse cases being reported at Addington Hospital in Durban.
What began as a small group of people determined to make a difference has grown into a national Childline network, with Childline services now available in every province, supported by a national governing office.
Childline KwaZulu-Natal is also part of the Child Helpline International Network, connecting us to child helplines across the world and strengthening our ability to share knowledge, learn from others and advocate for children.
Our 24/7 toll-free number, 116, is the regional Child Helpline number used across Africa, giving children and families a trusted and accessible way to reach out for help, support and protection.
Childline remains committed to protecting children, supporting families and giving every child a voice.
